Meet Joseph Mattus
Founder of The Mindful Artist Academy
After graduating from art school in 1987, I hadn't really picked up a pencil or paintbrush for many many years. My journey put much distance between me and the artistic expression I connected to as a young man. No matter how far my path strayed from drawing and painting, there still remained in my heart a burning candle inviting me home to practice. This practice would not only become the core of my progression as an artist but the catalyst for a transformed life and outlook. I am so happy to share not only the drawing and painting methods I learned over the five years of Atelier study in New York City but ways these principles can positively affect our lives in ways we could not have imagined.
I am also an instructor at the Crealde School of Art.
