Mindset of Play
Play is an essential element for artistic growth and personal development. As children, play came naturally and brought us joy. Even in nature, playful behavior highlights the value of play. However, as adults, play is often seen as separate from productivity. The cultural expectation of productivity and a transactional mentality can be imposed on artwork. Art teaches us that progress is not always linear and high expectations can lead to frustration. Play brings joy and expression to artwork, even in the midst of deadlines and technical proficiency. It opens the mind and heart and is indispensable in creating meaningful artwork.
